Filmmakers from around the country are in town for the 13th Annual Oxford Film Festival. Here's your guide to the best independent films you need to see this weekend! Phantom limb, Reed O'BeirnePhantom Limb is an experimental film that only uses footage from O'Beirne's MRI. This is his first year at the Oxford Film Festival. His movie will be showing February 20th at 1 p.m. as part of the experimental block at the Shelter on Van Buren. A King's Betrayal, David A. BornsteinBornstein directs a narrative short about the last day of a Piñata. The piñata's final words are "there is no God, life is just cruel." Bornstein warns that the dark comedy is "...either the saddest movie you've ever seen or the funniest movie you've ever seen." It will be screening February 20th at 12:15 p.m. in the Malco Theater. Finding Cleveland, Larissa LamFinding Cleveland is a documentary that follows Baldwin Chiu's 48 hour journey in Cleveland, MS. He is trying to uncover history of his grandfather that came from China to Cleveland in the late 1800s. The director describes the story as "kind of this lost history in American history." The short film will be playing February 21st at 1 p.m. in the Malco Theater. Spaghetti Man, Mark PottsMark Potts directs a super hero comedy about Spaghetti Man. The idea of Spaghetti Man started out from an Los Angeles based sketch group a few years ago. Spaghetti Man describes his weapon as, "...the pen [being] mightier than the sword, well in this case, spaghetti is my pen." The comedy has an encore screening February 20th at 8:15 p.m. on Malco Theater screen 1.
